    Hello, I’m Liana.

I am a UKCP and BACP registered Humanistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist and offer in-person and online therapy from my private practice in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey.  I work long-term and short-term with adults.

'When you start to gently enquire into your emotions, rather than judge them or push them aside, you will notice that they will start to change.'
    Looking for support

Looking for the right counsellor can often feel confusing and overwhelming (especially if you are already feeling distressed) so I hope my website can provide you with some clarity and reassurance.

My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to be able to bring a particular issue or anything else you would like to explore.

Depending on why you have come to therapy, our work together usually involves searching for the root causes of distress and becoming aware of the obstacles that prevent you from living a rich, satisfying and fulfilling life. We also work at  processing emotions and developing skills to be able to manage and cope.

Please, don't hesitate to call or email if you would like to discuss how we can both work together.

    Why seek support?

More often than not, we think that we should be able to handle problems all by ourselves. Unpleasant emotions are often pushed aside and can feeI overwhelming. The problem is that the more we avoid and don't want to feel our emotions, the bigger and the more confusing they become. Anxiety and depression for example are a sign that something important needs our time and attention. When you start to gently enquire and be with your feelings (rather than ignore, fight or judge them), you will notice that they will start to change.

In my experience, I find that people are either too much in their heads (rationalising and not feeling) or they feel overwhelmed by a whole range of difficult, confusing and conflicting emotions. As a counsellor, my role is to foster a supportive environment, where I can help you explore and gently stay with what is difficult. We can work together at clarifying issues and adjusting the balance so you are eventually able to feel, think and manage better.

I work with people who experience:

    • Anxiety

    • Stress

    • Depression (feeling sad & feeling low)

    • Low Self-Esteem

    • Bereavement

    • Difficulties in Relationships

    • Trauma

    • Anger management

    • Parenting issues

    • Menopause

I also work with people who would like to live a more meaningful and satisfying life, get to know themselves better, develop and grow.

*Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.

Feel free to get in touch to discuss what other difficulties you would like to explore.
